Terra cotta is a ceramic. Its uses include vessels,
water & waste water pipes and surface embellishment in building
construction. The term is also used to refer to items made out
of this material and to its natural, brownish orange color.
In a geological region characterized by the abundance of valuable minerals,
locally called " Land of the Deep Blue ", prospers the village of Impruneta,
home to blue clay of unparalleled quality.
The manufacturing of terracotta in Impruneta is an ancient tradition, dating
back long before the Renaissance to Etruscan civilization.
